Sword Forum Bugei

The Bugei Sword Forum was originally conceived in 1998 for the serious discussion of Japanese martial traditions and related subjects. To that end, we expect mature and reasonable behavior from all members. Any diversion from mature, open discussions will be dealt with via warnings, locked threads, edit or deletion of posts and possibly even outright bans. While we'd rather not have to, we will use what tools we have in order to maintain a minimum level of maturity.

To that end, all users – by virtue of registering for a user account here – agree to be bound by the following rules.

All members are required to use their real, full name as their username. No handles, no nicknames, no fanciful delusions of martial prowess and no exceptions whatever. Just your real, full name. Users should also create a signature (in their Profile) that includes their full name though the creation of a signature is only a suggestion.

All members are required to have their e-mail address (a working one) in their profile. Accounts are periodically reviewed and those with non-functioning or non-responsive email addresses will be deleted or suspended until clarification/correction can be made.

All members are required to conduct themselves in a mature and respectful manner. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. If you have difference of opinion concerning the contents of a user’s post, debate it cleanly and respectfully. If you have a personal problem with another user and you just have to let them know, do so via e-mail. Please don’t use the forum or the PM system.

All members are required to refrain from any and all advertising, including commercial advertising, private sales, etc. Keep in mind that this board is related to Bugei Trading Company as a free service. As such, there are potential legal issues involved in advertisements and posts promoting the sale or trade of merchandise not directly related to their business.

All members are required to refrain from promoting self-guided sword practice or “self-taught” sword work. It is the unswerving position of Bugei Trading Company and of the Administration of this forum that the notion of self-guided sword practices is a highly dangerous and ill-advised practice which should never be condoned, recommended or advised to any individual regardless of age, intelligence, previous experience or level of maturity. Any post doing so will be deleted immediately upon detection.
