I was just wondering what way one would store there Japanese Water Stones, I ask as I have been told leaving the submerged at all times is best removing them only when used.
I understand that there is a time required for saturation however is it possible to over saturate a stone?

when not using our stones we store them dry on a small shelf. As for over saturating them, it is not something you have to worry about.

Different manufacturers have different directions. Some require soak time prior to use, typically these can remain submerged, depending on your water this may be best as continual soak and dry cycles may leave mineral deposits in the voids. Others need only a splash on top and are ready to go. Do not soak, as many of these types can be harmed by continual soaking. Naturals should not be soaked
